Why Creativity Is a Core Developmental Skill

Creativity is not just about art. It is the ability to generate new ideas, approach problems from unexpected angles, adapt to change, and express oneself confidently. The World Economic Forum consistently ranks creativity among the top three skills children will need to thrive in the future economy — alongside critical thinking and collaboration. The best time to develop it is through play, long before formal education begins.

How do creative toys support school performance?

Creative play develops the divergent thinking skills that complement the convergent thinking taught in most school subjects. Children who engage regularly in open-ended creative play show stronger performance in writing, project work, and collaborative tasks — where original thinking is rewarded over rote recall.

Are creative toys suitable for screen-free play in UAE summers?

Yes — art and craft toys are one of the most effective screen-free activities for UAE children during the long indoor summer months. They provide hours of focused, productive engagement without a device. Washable Crayola products and Hey Clay kits are particularly popular with UAE parents for indoor summer use.
